This year, more than many others, may be the Year of the Road Trip. But with more flights, to more destinations, opening up every day, going farther than you may want to drive is also an option.

According to AAA, these are the Top 5 destinations for Cincinnati-area travelers this summer. So don’t be surprised if you see run into your neighbors even when you’re out of town.

1. Orlando

The House of Mouse is a must-do in Orlando, especially now with Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. (Who doesn’t want to make their own light saber?) But LEGOland and Universal up the theme park options.

2. Nashville

Music City USA is a quick drive from Cincinnati and offers great food, cool boutique hotels, and incredible music. Explore the Grand Ole Opry and try that famous hot chicken the city is known for while you’re there.

3. Las Vegas

Vegas is always new, no matter how many times you’ve been there. The pools make the desert heat bearable in the summer, to say nothing of the AC in the casinos.

4. Myrtle Beach

Is the beach calling your name? At a 10-hour drive – or a 90-minute flight from CVG – South Carolina is so close! You’ll have your pick of outdoor recreation, fun shopping, and every kind of cuisine.

5. Denver

The Mile High City lets you stay steps from the Rockies but with all the big city amenities you desire. Head to a baseball game, explore history, see a concert at Red Rocks – you’ll be exhausted from your summer break.
