Kick off the holiday season at Light Up the Square. This beloved annual celebration, features live music, dance performances, an appearance by Santa Claus and a dazzling fireworks display.

The UC Health Ice Rink, presented by Fifth Third Bank, will be open for skating from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

I’m a 55-foot Concolor Fir. Commonly called a white fir, we’re pretty much the ideal tree for a holiday celebration.

Did you always want to be a holiday tree?

When you’re a little sapling in a forest, you always hope you’ll have the chance to be part of a holiday celebration.

But I never imagined I’d be at the center of such a great tradition as Light Up the Square! To be chosen as the holiday tree for a whole city – and be in so many pictures with families – That’s pretty amazing!

What’s been your favorite thing about Fountain Square so far?

I love the ice skaters! The music is playing all day and it’s so much fun to see people (of all skill levels!) on the ice and having fun.

It’s also fun to be at the corner of Fifth and Vine. I understand that’s a busy and popular intersection! I feel like I’m really in the heart of the city and get to enjoy the excitement of the season.

Every once in a while I can also get a glimpse of river, which is pretty cool!

What are you most looking forward to seeing in Cincinnati?

I’m ready for the lights!

We’ve done some tests but I’m looking forward to have the lights on All. The. Time. And of course, having the star lit. It’s beautiful!
