Family-owned companies mean business in Cincinnati.

For the past 25 years, the Goering Center for Family and Private Business has recognized local business leaders, community members, and supporters to celebrate the achievements and contributions of family and private businesses in the region.

This year’s Family and Private Business Awards honor 10 exemplary businesses recognized for their commitment to the Goering Center’s 10 Best Practices for Family and Private Business.

The 2024 year’s honorees are:

In addition to celebrating these outstanding companies, the event will feature special awards that recognize individuals and families who have made significant contributions to the business community. The prestigious Keith Baldwin Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented to Jonathan Theders, Chairman and Chief Growth Officer of RiskSource/OneDigital, in recognition of his unwavering dedication to the Goering Center and its mission. Guest as the event include University of Cincinnati President Neville Pinto and Marianne Lewis, Dean of the Lindner College of Business.

The evening will also include the presentation of the Hall of Fame Family Award, which honors a family business that has made a substantial impact on the business community. This year, the Heiman family of Standard Textile will receive this esteemed accolade for their enduring influence and contributions.Furthermore, the event will feature the announcement of the winner of the eighth annual Larry Grypp Rising Leader Award, which recognizes an emerging leader within the family and private business community. The winner of this prestigious award will be revealed at the event on Sept. 10.

Established in 1989, The Goering Center for Family and Private Business, affiliated with the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business, is the nation’s largest university- based educational resource center for family and private businesses. Through programs and services that address the unique challenges and opportunities of family and private firms, the Goering Center serves as a vital resource for business success and longevity.
