New York’s iconic native is considered one of the most beloved recording artists and esteemed entertainers in history. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth bestselling recording artist and the fourth-bestselling solo artist with more than 160 million records sold worldwide. His 1985 compilation album, “Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2,” is one of the bestselling albums in the United States.

Joel’s songs have acted as personal and cultural touchstones for millions of people across five decades. Joel’s string of 33 Top 40 hits, all of which Joel has written himself, began with 1973’s autobiographical “Piano Man,” written while Joel was playing in a Los Angeles lounge. In 2016, the Library of Congress selected “Piano Man” for preservation in the National Recording Registry for its “cultural, historic and artistic significance.” The hits have continued for almost five decades, with three of Joel’s Top 40 songs – “It’s Still Rock and Roll To Me,” “Tell Her About It” and “We Didn’t Start The Fire” – peaking at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts and 23 Grammy nominations awarded to Joel since he signed his first recording contract in 1972.

Joel is one of the most engaging and bestselling live performers of our time, with songs like “Uptown Girl,” “Just The Way You Are,” “The Longest Time” and “Vienna” – amongst countless others. In January 2014, Joel began Madison Square Garden’s first-ever music franchise performing one show at The Garden each month – Billboard Magazine called it “The Greatest Arena Run in History.” More than 50 years after his The Garden debut, after 10 years of sold-out shows, his final concert marked Joel’s 150th lifetime performance at the venue this past July.

The long list of accolades awarded to Joel across his career is a testament to the reverence given to him by fans, critics, and fellow musicians alike. Joel was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by his idol Ray Charles in 1999 – Joel has received the RIAA’s Diamond Award twice for Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II and The Stranger, presented for albums that have sold more than 10 million copies. He is the recipient of six GRAMMY Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. Joel has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame including the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award. He was inducted by Barack and Michelle Obama at the 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honor and he received a TONY AWARD for "Movin' Out," a Broadway musical based on Joel’s music.

As a humanitarian, The Joel Foundation has made and pledged more than $7 million in charitable donations with a focus on music education and humanitarian aid. In addition to supporting vital global relief efforts, The Joel Foundation provides grants to organizations throughout New York City and Long Island leveraging the power of music to enhance the lives of people of every age. Recently, The Joel Foundation announced the continuation of its long-term investment in Long Island’s only public arts high school, Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA), serving student artists in a pre-conservatory model with a focus on career and technical education.

Sir Rod Stewart is one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music, with more than 250 million records and singles sold worldwide. His signature voice, style, and songwriting have transcended all genres of popular music, including rock, folk, soul, R&B, the Great American Songbook, and swing—making him one of the few stars to enjoy chart-topping albums throughout every decade of his career.

Drawing from his illustrious 50+ year catalog of hit songs, Rod personally creates a unique setlist for each show, taking audiences on an unprecedented ride through every era of his career with chart-toppers like, “Have I Told You Lately,” “Maggie May,” “You Wear it Well,” “Hot Legs,” “Broken Arrow,” “Infatuation,” “You’re in My Heart,” “Do You Think I’m Sexy,” “Some Guys Have All the Luck,” “Rhythm of My Heart,” “Young Turks,” “Sailing,” “Tonight’s The Night,” and “Forever Young,” as well as a few surprises and legendary covers in the mix. Fans will experience an extraordinary night of entertainment with a dynamic stage production and his award-winning 12-piece band and backup vocalists.

A two-time inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Stewart’s extraordinary catalog includes ten No. 1 albums and 31 Top 10 singles in the U.K., six of which reached No. 1, plus 17 Top 10 albums, with four reaching No. 1, and 16 Top 10 singles in the US. He's written several songs that are now modern standards and earned countless of the industry’s highest awards, among them, the ASCAP Founders Award for songwriting, New York Times bestselling author, Grammy™ Living Legend, and in 2016 he officially became “Sir Rod Stewart” after being knighted at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity. In 2023, his first foray outside of music, Wolfie's Whisky, was another critical hit and has quickly been embraced worldwide. In 2024, he tackled yet another music genre with the release of Swing Fever, his 33rd studio album. The album, a collaboration with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, a 13-track sparkling salute to the timeless songs of the big band years, garnered him his 11th No. 1 album in the U.K.—a feat he shares with David Bowie, Taylor Swift, and U2 on the all-time list of acts with the most No. 1 albums in the U.K. He continues to tour the world with “One Last Time,” a box office smash, which grossed among The Top 20 Global Concert Tours of 2024 and will launch in North America and Europe in 2025. In 2024, Rod also wrapped his record-setting 13-year Las Vegas residency, “Rod Stewart: The Hits,” and after much fan demand, will return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace March–June 2025 with “The Encore Shows,” featuring his biggest hits, plus surprises from the songbook, swing, as well as deep cuts, and stunning new production elements. Rise Above

John Preston, a local marine and firefighter, has released a new music video, “Rise,” to inspire other veterans and first responders.

This week, John Preston, a Cincinnati-born and Northern Kentucky-raised marine/firefighter, unveiled his latest music video, Rise.

The release comes on the heels of a transformative year for Preston, who completed an awe-inspiring 704-mile hike that concluded at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium in December 2023 in honor of his brother and other first responders who’ve lost their lives to Post Traumatic Stress.

Following this milestone, Preston returned to California, where he signed with Lobel Music Group, solidifying his commitment to harnessing the power of music to inspire his brothers and sisters in the veteran and first responder communities.

Rise, described by Preston as “an anthem for the overlooked,” blends Hollywood-level storytelling with archival footage chronicling his 20-year journey in the music industry spotlighting his passion for propping up those who serve.

As Preston returned home from Iraq in 2004, he was so immersed in his own depression, drinking and post traumatic stress, he missed the magnitude of the struggle his brother, fellow veteran and police officer in Northern Kentucky, also faced. Michael took his life in 2016, leaving Preston gripped with pain and a deepened determination to save the heroes of other families.

Rise is more than a song; it’s a tribute to resilience and a call to action for those who feel unseen,” said Preston.

 A Visionary Collaboration

Directed by filmmaker Paul Sadowski of Full Range Films, the video reflects the deeply personal journey of Preston. Sadowski, who worked with Preston on his 2023 documentary, shared his creative vision:

“In the visual story of Rise, we wanted to capture the power of witnessing your own future through the innocent eyes of a child, all the way to the present day,” said Sadowski. “Seeing what John has been through – from Iraq to becoming a firefighter, to committing to marriage and fatherhood, to now – presented an opportunity to tell a complete but open-ended journey that complements this powerful, amazing song.”

A Star-Studded Partnership

The video features styling from MUNICIPAL clothing, owned by Mark Wahlberg. Wahlberg’s brand has partnered with Preston to amplify the release through social media campaigns and star-studded support, highlighting the artist’s relentless drive and dedication.

A Family Affair

Adding a heartfelt layer, Rise marks the debut of Preston’s children, John Thomas (15) and Eleanor (3), who portray younger versions of him. Set in a warehouse filled with old televisions, the video weaves a nostalgic and emotional narrative of life’s passage through their eyes.

“It started with the last hike and shooting the documentary, but it has been such an incredible experience to watch my family take part in what has become a dream life we’ve been fortunate enough to create,” Preston said. “We want to see every veteran and first responder rise to a life of purpose and fulfillment.”

Honoring the Past, Shining Light on the Future

The video also features stunning visuals of Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, captured during the final days of Preston’s Carry the Weight hike. The hike was part of a documentary series aimed at raising awareness about veteran and first responder suicide, a cause close to Preston’s heart following the loss of his brother Michael, a Newport Police officer who died by suicide in 2016. The hike drew tremendous local support, with veterans, first responders, and community members joining Preston on his journey.

Preston is a musician, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and firefighter who uses his platform to inspire and advocate for veterans, first responders, and their families. Through his music and storytelling, Preston has become a beacon of hope, showing that perseverance and passion can overcome even the greatest obstacles.

With my background in dance, I absolutely loved seeing the Cincinnati Ballet’s “Mercurial Landscapes.”

The show was a part of ArtsWave's Flow, a series designed to build highly diverse and adventurous audiences in the region, and featured costumes by Cincinnati's own Asha Ama Bias-Daniels. The show was everything our arts are about: world-class quality, collaboration, exploration and inclusion.

“Concert” might be a strong word, and I may be betraying my whereabouts in the 1980s, but the Raisins reunion shows at the Woodward Theatre over Thanksgiving weekend were hands-down the best. It felt like stepping back into those wild days at Alexander's, Bogart's, or wherever you could catch Rob, Bob, Ricky, and Bam doing their thing. There was so much joy in the room. The lyrics came rushing back (who knew I still remembered them?), and the crowd's energy was electric—well, as electric as a room full of well-past-middle-aged fans can get. Let's just say, we all left with our hearts full.

Get the Lowdown

Whited Sepulchre Records brings the inaugural Talk Low Music Festival of experimental music to venues around the city, Sept. 24–29.

Ryan Hall, Talk Low Music Festival

“Cincinnati has a deep history of being home for exceptional experimental music and for hosting forward-thinking events like Music Now and No Response Festival,” says Ryan Hall, the mastermind behind the inaugural Talk Low Music Festival. “As the city expands and as we've some of those annual events phase out, I think it is really important continually push for events that recognize Cincinnati's position as a welcoming home for the arts.”

The festival’s mission is to provide unique contexts for deep listening and thoughtful engagement with music. Pulling from ambient, jazz, indie rock, electronic and all the genre shadings in between, Talk Low will bring world-class artists to Cincinnati, many for the first time.

Highlights on the lineup include the legendary New Age / ambient artist Laraaji, Kenyan electronic artist KMRU, Peruvian turntablist / sound artist Maria Chavez, NYC House provocateur Galcher Lustwerk, composer and bassoonist ,Joy Guidry and “emo-ambient” pioneer claire rousay. As a new music festival in Ohio, Talk Low fuses the high concept approach of festivals like Big Ears with Midwest D.I.Y energy and roots.

“The guiding principle for some of the larger acts was to book artists who are internationally renowned but who have never played Cincinnati before,” says Hall. “Without a festival like Talk Low, people may not get a chance to see these artists perform outside of a city like New York, L.A., or as part of a large festival like Big Ears. It's exciting to look at this line-up and think that a majority of these acts have never played here.”

Hall has organized music festivals similar in scale to Talk Low in Denver and Columbia, Mo., as well as setting up concerts in town.

Talk Low is set in three different venues in the city. DSGN CLLCTV, a Northside art gallery, is an intimate space that Hall says will break the walls down between performer and audience. The Woodward Theatre is a natural fit for someone like Laraaji's set on Saturday, and the partnership with the Contemporary Arts Center has been really incredible, according to Hall.

“I’ve seen some truly outstanding music performances in their Black Box performance space,” he says. “I think guests who attend Sunday’s show with Joy Guidry, Niecy Blues and the Johnson-Montgomery-Prymek Trio will see a truly unique performance in a space that truly centers forward-thinking and intersectional art.”

The festival grew out of a smaller festival that Hall developed in 2022 that served as a showcase for his label, Whited Sepulchre Records. Some of the artists performing at Talk Low – Joy Guidry, Desert Liminal, claire rousay, Public Speaking, Leon Johnson and Chaz Prymek – have released records on the label and have become friends of Hall.

“Receiving a Catalyzing Impact grant from Artswave allowed us to make our dreams of organizing a world-class experimental music festival in Cincinnati a reality,” Hall says.

Talk Low is organized by the Cincinnati-based label Whited Sepulchre Records and made possible through support from Artswave, Additional support for Talk Low is from C.U.L.T, Durham Studios, Downbound Books, Feel It Records, and Conveyor Belt Books.

Akon (Aug. 31) is a Senegalese-American singer-songwriter, producer, businessman, and philanthropist. He rose to fame 2004 following the release of his debut single “Locked Up.” He quickly worked with some of the best in business, featuring Snoop Dogg and Eminem on his 2006 follow-up, Konvicted.

Brad Paisley (Sept. 7) has earned his place in country music history as one of the genre’s most talented and decorated male solo artists. Over the past 20 years, his songwriting and unmatched showmanship have won him numerous awards.

A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, Paisley has written 21 of his 24 No. 1 hits, and in 2008 became the first artist to achieve 10 consecutive Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 singles. The 2010 CMA Entertainer of the Year’s past works have amassed over 3.9 billion on-demand streams. Paisley continues to collaborate with Peyton Manning in a multi-year ad campaign with Nationwide insurance. A prolific entertainer, Paisley’s first prime-time special, “Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special,” aired on ABC in December 2019 and has garnered over 18.1 million viewers to date.

Now perhaps better known for his television and film roles in FridayThree Kings, and 21 JumpStreet, Ice Cube (Sept. 14) is an American rapper, songwriter, actor, and film producer. A founding member of N.W.A., he was the lead rapper and main on its official debut Straight Outta Compton. He left the group in 1990 and released his debut solo album, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted.

The legendary Three Dog Night (Sept. 20) had 21 Billboard Top 40 Hits between 1969 and 1975, and you definitely know all the words to “Joy To The World.” The band was know for working with some of the best (and at-the-time undiscovered) songwriters of that era including Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams, and Hoyt Axton.

While the Brothers Gallagher are getting all headlines about the Oasis right now, the Robinson Brothers in the The Black Crowes (Sept. 28) are also putting out new music after a 15-years hiatus. Known for hits in the ‘90s like “Hard to Handle,” and “She Talks to Angels” the band reunited for a 30th anniversary of their debut album in 2020. In March 2024 they released, Happiness Bastards, an album of all new music.

Better Together

Luke Combs bring his Growin' Up and Gettin' Old tour to Paycor Stadium on Aug. 2 and 3, plus an old-fashioned tailgate party at The Banks.

Though he is a two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year, Luke Combs garnered even wider attention with his poignant duet of “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman at this year’s GRAMMY Awards in February.

He brings that same authenticity to Paycor Stadium on Aug. 2 and 3, for his “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” Tour. The string of North American tour dates includes 25 shows across 13 U.S. cities, as well as one date in Canada.

The GRAMMY performance capped a massive year for “Fast Car,” as Combs’ version of the song won Single of the Year at the 2024 ACM Awards and 2023 CMA Awards (with Chapman winning Song of the Year). It also spent five-consecutive weeks atop Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and reached #1 on the Hot AC chart, the first song by a male solo artist to ever top both. Last weekend, he dropped his new single “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” which is featured on the soundtrack for the movie “Twisters.”

On tour, Combs is joined by a handful of special guests each night. On Fridays, Cody Jinks, The Avett Brothers, Charles Wesley Godwin, Hailey Whitters and The Wilder Blue will play, and on Saturday he will be joined by Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, Drew Parker and Colby Acuff.

Before the shows, don’t miss the Luke Combs Pre-Show Block Party at The Banks. The two-block street party is happening both nights, from 2-8 p.m. There will be food and beer trucks plus custom T-shirts available for purchase. Grab a cowboy hat before the show and enjoy the fun. The official Luke Combs merchandise truck will be set up on the corner of Freedom and Race streets.

The tailgate also includes the Luke-Alike Competition, with the chance to win a $100 Holy Grail gift card and the Red Solo Kick-the-Cup Competition for the chance to win one of two custom Luke Combs photo backdrops!.

In June, Combs’ released his latest full-length album, “Fathers & Sons.” The first album of its kind, “Fathers & Sons” features Combs’ most personal songwriting to date, as he reflects on his own experiences being a dad to his two sons and the unique bond between parents and their children.

This Is How We Do It

Just in time for summer roadtrip and cookouts, we’ve put together a playlist featuring artists from this year’s lineup.

I believe it was Martha and the Vandellas who pointed out “Summer’s here and the time is right for dancing in the streets.”

Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati is taking those lyrics to heart as it hosts the second year of its popular Outdoor Concert Series.

Using the lineup as inspiration, we’ve put together a playlist of featured artists just in time for summer roadtrip and cookouts.

The season – and the subsequent dancing – is also heating up at Hard Rock, with country, R&B, alternative, classic rock, reggae, metal, 90s throwbacks and more.

Check out these upcoming concerts:

311 + Awolnation + Neon Trees, July 20

Three bands for the price of one! Reggae rockers 311 are originally from Omaha, Nebraska, and have released 13 studio albums, two live albums, four compilation albums and four DVDs. Their self-titled album reached triple platinum behind the singles “Down” and “All Mixed Up.”

Awolnation’s first single, “Sail,” went platinum in the US and double platinum in Canada. The indie rock band most recently released an album of cover songs by such artists as Scorpions, Midnight Oil and Madonna.

Rock band Neon Trees is probably best known for its single, “Everybody Talks,” released in late 2011. Their first album, Habits, featured the singles “Animal” and “Your Surrender.”

I Love the 90s with Vanilla Ice, Montell Jordan and Rob Base, August 9

90s fashion is back, so we might as well celebrate ‘90s music. The “I Love the 90s” tour is a three-prong musical punch sure to bring back those side ponytails and parachute pants.

Vanilla Ice is synonymous with ‘90s hits, as his single, “Ice, Ice Baby” was the first rap single to reach #1 on the Billboard singles charts. His album, To The Extreme, reached #1 on Billboard’s album charts. He also reached cult status with “Ninja Rap,” from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II.

Montell Jordan is best known for his first single, “This is How We Do It,” which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for seven straight weeks. His debut album of the same name went platinum, selling more than a million copies.

Rob Base burst onto the American hip-hop scene with the debut album, It Takes Two, which reached platinum status and #4 on the Billboard R&B albums chart. The album spawned three hits, including the title track “It Takes Two,” along with “Get on the Dance Floor” and “Joy and Pain.” The second album, The Incredible Base, was a top 20 Billboard R&B album and was certified gold.

Brad Paisley, Sept. 7

Country superstar Brad Paisley brings his chart toppers to the outdoor venue just after Labor Day. Paisley’s 1999 debut album Who Needs Pictures started a string of 12 studio albums and a Christmas album that all were certified gold. He has had 35 singles hit the Billboard Country Top 10, with 20 of those reaching No. 1.

He has sold more than 11 million albums and has won three Grammy awards, 14 Academy of Country Music awards, 14 Country Music Association awards and two American Music awards. Paisley has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001.

Three Dog Night, Sept. 20

Classic rockers Three Dog Night, has been rolling out hits since 1967, including 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 songs, three Number 1 singles, 11 Top 10s and seven singles selling at least a million. Their hits include “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” “An Old Fashioned Love Song,” “Joy to the World” and “Never Been to Spain.”

The outdoor venue can host 4,000 general admission spectators, and there are VIP upgrades available at each concert. Tickets start at just $25 and available here.

Back at It Again

Nate Smith kicks off the Outdoor Concert Series at Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, with a lineup of great music all summer long!

I believe it was Martha and the Vandellas who pointed out “Summer’s here and the time is right for dancing in the streets.”

Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati is taking those lyrics to heart as it hosts the second year of its popular Outdoor Concert Series.

The season – and the subsequent dancing - begins Friday, May 31 as country artist Nate Smith comes to town to kick off the series.

The Hard Rock outdoor venue can host 4,000 general admission spectators, and there are VIP upgrades available at each concert. Tickets start at just $25.

Hard Rock has made it a point to pull from many genres, in keeping with its motto, “Love All - Serve All.” On the summer horizon: country, R&B, alternative, classic rock, reggae, metal, 90s throwbacks and more. Here’s what to expect:

Nate Smith, May 31

Smith, a country music star on the rise, is originally from Paradise, California, and after spending time in Nashville, he returned to his hometown, only to have his home burn down in the Butte County Camp Fire. The tragedy inspired him to write his breakout song, “One of These Days,” which created enough attention to encourage Smith to return to Nashville.

His major label debut was “Raised Up,” followed by “I Don’t Wanna Go to Heaven.” Smith made the 2022 Artists to Watch list by Country Now, Country Lifestyle Network, and PopWrapped. Singles “Whiskey on You” and “World on Fire” reached #1 on the U.S. Country Airplay in 2022 and 2023, respectively. His studio album Nate Smith, released in 2023, reached #6 on the U.S. Country charts.

Aaron Lewis, June 15

Aaron Lewis, founding member of the alternative metal band Staind, released seven studio albums with the band before pursuing a solo career. His debut EP, Town Line, was released in 2011 and his first full-length solo album, The Road, was released in 2012.

In 2019, Lewis released his third solo album, State I’m In, and his fourth album, Frayed at Both Ends, was released in 2022. It peaked at number five on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and was the top selling country album in America upon release.

Boyz II Men, June 22

The stars, who provided the R&B soundtrack to the 90s, started in Philadelphia keep true to their musical roots. They had international success in 1991 with singles such as Motownphilly and It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday. Their number one single, End of the Road, set a record on the Billboard Hot 100, staying in the top spot for 13 weeks.

Boyz II Men broke their own Billboard record with I’ll Make Love to You at the top of the charts for 14 weeks and One Sweet Day at Number One for 16 weeks. The group has four Grammy awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They also have been inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and the R&B Music Hall of Fame.

2023 Favorite Concert

Of course Taylor Swift was the big story in 2023! But we were lucky to have many other performers rock our world – well, Cincinnati – this year.

Classical music? Check.

Metalcore? Check.

Time’s Person of the Year? Yeah, we’ve got that too.

From intimate sets to huge stadium shows, music moved us to dance, feel, and come together as nothing else could.

See what had our Favorite Things panel on their feet in 2023.

Normally I’d say something country at Riverbend, but this year it was the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra!

I had the opportunity to chaperone my son’s fourth grade class field trip and we all had a great time together. We are so fortunate to have CSO, Music Hall and so many other beautiful treasures in this town.

– Sarah Celenza

Flo Rida at Kroger Wellness Fest – Best free concert I have seen!

– Megan Coffey

 Shakey Graves at Bogarts.

– Hillary Copsey

Pink at GABP She is an amazing performer!!!!!

– Bridget England

And Krista Katona Pille agrees:

PINK at Great American Ballpark – It was one giant summer party! No one puts on a show like PINK – She literally FLEW in the air!

AlphaWolf, Knocked Loose, and Motionless in White but also LS Dunes

– Christian Gill

Opening night of our new production of Madama Butterfly.

– Evans Mirageas

Beyonce! But in Cincinnati, it was The Reunion Tour at Andrew Brady Music Center

– Jenifer Moore

TAYLOR SWIFT!

– Kathrine Nero

No really…

Taylor Swift who is raising a generation of good people. The two days of concerts at Paycor were memorable in so many ways for me and our city.

– Jackie Reau

Kronos Quartet at Memorial Hall

– Mindy Rosen

 It’s a tie!

Taylor Swift at Paycor Stadium was the most wholesome display of friendship, feminine power, and fun I may have ever seen. People complimenting each other! Singing along in unison! Giving each other friendship bracelets!

Before the show, a young woman asked me if I wanted a friendship bracelet and showed me a giant bag filled with beaded masterpieces. I said thank you, but I didn’t have one for her.  Assuring me that its was fine, she let me choose one. Once I stopped sobbing from this adorable kindless. I picked one that read “EVERMORE,” my favorite album.

Later that night the title track was one of the “secret songs.” I have considered that bracelet a good luck talisman since then.

Patti Smith at Homecoming. Seeing a woman command the stage at an age when so many others have retired, was astonishing. Not that I expected anything less from the godmother of punk. From reading an Alan Ginsberg poem to a rapt crowd to telling a story about “Bobby” Mapplethorpe, she had captivated the crowd. She was also in fine voice that night, joining The National during their set for “I Need My Girl.” She was a revelation and an inspiration.

 – Tricia Suit

Candlelight Concert at Memorial Hall – Super relaxing and magical.

 – Amy Thompson

 Taylor Swift.

– Courtney Tomasetti

(Seriously, we mean it. It was a really good show.)

James Taylor – First time to see him in person.

– Jayne Utter

Cincinnati Music Festival is going to the Dogg this year!

Catch the Sun

The ultimate party playlist for your red, white and BBQ.

Do you hear that? It makes you want to put the top down or float in the pool or hang out with your besties.

It’s the song of the summer.

The “song of the summer” is described as the dominant song between Memorial Day and Labor Day. That leaves plenty of room for debate about the true “song of the summer” each year, though. Let’s just say, you know it when you hear it.

Billboard officially started its “Songs of the Summer” chart in 2010, but has retroactively collected hits back to 1985. But to save you time, we’ve tracked the Top 5 songs from 2000 to 2022, creating the perfect soundtrack for all your summer parties.

The New York Times set out to define it a bit more, creating charts for a very different sort (hint: there's an algorithm). What they found was remarkable similarities among the Top 10 hits of each summer since 1970. So don’t be surprised if this year’s summer bop sounds familiar, but in a feel-good, nostalgic way.

From one-hit wonders to music legends, the playlist lets you travel back in time to more carefree summer days. Grab your sunglasses – and a drink – and have a great summer.

But the set isn’t limited to just this list. Each night Swift adds two surprise songs, recently playing “Dear John” live for the first time in 11 years. (Pity John Mayer!)

Swift has also had surprise guests on the tour, including Ice Spice, Phoebe Bridgers, and even Cincinnati’s own Aaron Dessner.

Will Dessner or others from The National join her onstage at Paycor? I guess you never know, never know…
